Introducing Commodora Script
Commodora Script is my entry for the FontStruct's Connected Script competition. I knew a lot of designers would attempt to replicate a "hand-drawn" script, but I wanted to create a "script" that embraced the modular and grid nature of FontStruct.
Commodora Script uses a single brick that shows the grid structure. I included several "snap on" swashes that can be used at the beginning and end of words. And old style numerals.
(And the name is absolutely a reference to my first computer, a Commodore Vic 20.)
I've actually got a whole range of additional characters that I'll release after judging is over. And I may even build an OpenType version to incorporate some of the snap-on flourishes.
Check out all the entries on FontStruct. Personally, my favorite entry is this crazy typeface by four.
