A couple of weeks ago, before I left for vacation, I spent a little extra time cleaning my desk and organizing email and files. Having that clean desk when you get back in the office really does make a world of difference.

I finished my 52 Shirts project. So happy with how the project turned out.

My issue with social media right now isn't necessarily about privacy... It's more an issue with return on investment. How much time am I putting into Facebook and Twitter and what am I getting out of it?

I'm seriously thinking about leaving Facebook and Twitter and just going with Micro.Blog and Instagram. I just don't feel like I'm getting anything out of social media today...

I'm rattled by the suicides of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain. I had a recent talk with a friend about mental health and creativity, and the stress that designers, writers and other creatives put on themselves. Expectations are unrelenting and exhausting.

I came across this NY Times article about why we are too hard on ourselves. It really resonated with me and I think many (most?) of us fall into this category.

I hate it when I have the perfect name for something – a blog, project, font, etc. – and it's already taken. 

I’m amazed how some people become so obsessed with the process, that they miss the point of the process. 

I'm not sure if listening to the Beastie Boys on the drive into work was a good idea or bad idea.

I keep a folder in Ulysses with blog post ideas. Things I want to write about. I just checked the folder and I've got 39 ideas or half-written posts sitting there... Time to get writing.
